Within the American Electric Karting League (AEKL), the 2026 championship season features three core racing classes, selected to ensure safety, competitive balance, and meaningful progression at professional level.
X3 Class – Junior Development
Minimum age: 11 years (drivers turning 11 during the season may be accepted by exception).
Full-size kart chassis with approximately 20 HP, designed for junior drivers entering professional electric karting. The focus is on racecraft, consistency, discipline, and adapting to a structured championship environment.
X4 Class – Advanced Junior / Senior Transition
Minimum age: 13 years (exceptions apply for drivers turning 13 during the season or demonstrating strong results in AEKL 2025, national junior, cadet, or equivalent championships).

X5 Class – Professional Performance
Minimum age: 16 years (exceptions may apply for drivers with proven senior or high-level national results).
